 You need to have a full motorcycle licence and have passed your test.

The training is suitable if :

• You want to train a high standard to be as safer rider.
• You do NOT want to join a group or take test.
• You are having a problem with cornering, roundabouts, overtaking etc.
• You have had a collision or accident.
• You are upgrading to a more powerful motorcycle.
• You are returning to riding after a break and are unsure of your standard.

Our  Safe Rider Academy is based on Motorcycle Roadcraft - The Police Riders Handbook.

Some training groups are charities, and all their trainers are volunteers. They do a decent job however they are not professionals, and you are reliant on their availability and the management style of their group.  They may only be available one day a month or you may have to take part in group rides not knowing who your trainer will be!

What do we do differently?

• Our training is provided 1-2-1. Your training plan is discussed and agreed with you.
• We will provide you with a copy of Motorcycle Roadcraft for your use during the course. (A returnable deposit of £15 required)
• Online theory sessions tailored to you needs as required.
• Online Motorcycle Roadcraft quizzes to support your learning and check your knowledge and understanding.
• There is an off-road slow riding session that will improve your ability to turn your bike around, park in confined spaces, filter safely, stop and move safely from junctions, how to manage hazards in complex environments.
• We use Bluetooth Headsets for directions and coaching and do not rely on indicators to guide you.
• We are working for you, and you do not have pay a fee to be a member of a charity or a group annually to train with us.
• There are no hidden fees - (paying for your observer or tutors fuel)
• There is NO test however you will be trained over and above the standard needed.

Your assessment is with an expert coach and will be over different road and traffic conditions. A bespoke personal development plan is provided electronically and will be discussed and agreed with you.

Based on your assessment ride, your development plan will focus on elements that you require to raise your riding standard based on the following.

• The system of motorcycle control (Information, Position, Speed, Gear, Acceleration)
• The areas you would like us to focus on during your training.
• Understanding and improving your observation, anticipation, and planning
• How to use speed safely and when to show restraint.
• Understanding the practical mechanics of how and why your bike steers and using this to develop your cornering.
• Practical slow riding for the road.
• How to plan and make safe overtakes.
• How to ride safely on motorways and multi-lane carriageways

Don't worry, this is a practical course so you will not be in a classroom for hours. We provide coaching for a range of riders and motorcycles

After each session you will receive a report containing an assessment of your riding and a development plan, so that you can practice before the next session.
