As the lead coach I hold a RoSPA Level 3 award in Advanced Motorcycle Instructor Training.
I am a DVSA Certified CBT, DAS and ERS Instructor.
I have previously been an IAM RoadSmart Masters Examiner, Masters Mentor, Advanced Rider Examiner and National Observer Assessor before deciding to leave the voluntary sector.
I was a Joint Chief Observer for Herts & Beds Advanced Motorcyclists (HBAM) with the specific role as Training Manager. This involved training new observers, maintaining the quality of training delivered to associates and overseeing specialist courses.
I developed specialist course for advanced scene management and a slow riding instructors' course with Bedfordshire Fire & Rescue Service.
I am a qualified Mental Health First Aider for Mental Health Motorbike. (See our section on mental health and riding)

Tim has worked for MCMotorcycling since December 2022.
Tim has a wide range of riding knowledge from off roading in Cambodia, Morocco, Thailand and Bali.

Tim has toured across Europe including Ireland, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Türkiye and Greece.

PUBLIC LIABILITY POLICY -
This policy provides protection for DIA members against claims by third parties for legal liabilities following bodily injury or damage to property while they are carrying out their instructional activities, subject to policy terms and conditions and including a policy excess of £500. This can be in the classroom or vehicle, or on private property, if you are deemed to be responsible. The sum insured is up to £20,000,000 (twenty million pounds, each and every claim.
PROFESSIONAL INDEMNITY POLICY
This policy provides protection in the event of a claim being brought against a DIA member for errors or omissions with respect to professional advice, subject to policy terms and conditions including policy excess of £1000. This can be for tuition either in the classroom or whilst on the road training. The sum insured is up to £5,000,000 (any one claim and in the aggregate including defence costs) Geographical limits are the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Channel Islands
